The Honorable Nahoo was one of the last of the great N'Himbi era oligarchs, famed for their love of art and literature. He eshewed a life of comfort and privilege for la vie de bohème in the Great Starbanks of Zembo. There he learned under the patronage of Rufus the Betrayer, master of the art of dynamic watercolour.
Renowned for his large-scale public commissions, The Honorable Nahoo's work adorns the walls of this very institution, commisoned in 8191.7-SST-4 by our founding director Jules Verne.
Throughout his adult life the Honorable Nahoo struggled with depression and addiction. In 8291.6-SST-9, "Driven to the wall by his own legend" (according to the art critic Gimloo Grimulon) he died by suicide at the age of 45 on the eve of a prestigious solo show.
The Honorable Nahoo's funeral was attended by thousands of acquaintances from the artistic community, and dozens of bartenders from the saloons he had frequented, all dressed in royal purple. Walking in a long line behind his coffin, they escorted his body from his studio to the Municipal Cemetery of the Blighted Zone. A year later, the Honorable Nahoo's family had his remains re-interred at the more prestigious Necropolis of Light.
