In the future there will be only five art schools, each renowned for the brilliance of its teaching staff. Every fifteen years, based on the excellence of its graduating students, one of these schools is deemed 'Primus, Best Among the Best'. During a magnificent ceremony lasting several days, all the teachers who have ever worked at this school are one by one decked with flowers and ritually disemboweled with a golden knife. At the end of this ceremony and with great pomp, the school, togther with the corpses of its slain faculty, is burned to the ground. All alumni are given the honor of daubing themselves with their ashes, from their ranks the new faculty are selected and the task of building the school’s replacement begins.
